Kinematic and Geometric Characterization of the Vögelsberg Rockslide (Tyrol, Austria) by Means of MT-InSAR Data

This paper focuses on the study of Vögelsberg landslide located in municipality Wattens (Tyrol, Austria), which reactivated 2016, causing damages to nearby buildings and infrastructures. Since date reactivation, a modern monitoring system has been implemented with installation in-situ geodetic automated tracking total stations (ATTS), an inclinometer two piezometers. Here, we describe distinctive methods, Breaks for Additive Seasonal Trend (BFAST) Vector Inclination Method (VIM) used characterize from kinematic geometrical point view. The main input data, both derive processing stack several Sentinel-1 differential interferograms Multiple Small Baseline Subset (MSBAS) 2D 3D algorithms. BFAST allowed highlighting seasonality phenomenon analysis time series as well trend breakpoints that identify reactivation phases. These latter were then correlated triggering factors such rain snow melting. application VIM through exploitation MSBAS displacement vectors reconstruction depth slip surface along longitudinal transversal direction and, turn, evaluation volumes material mobilized by landslide. results obtained further prove procedures in-depth Multi-Temporal Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (MT-InSAR) data can contribute slow-moving characterization, represents fundamental step hazard assessment within quantitative risk analyses.
